Quail eggs are very excellent. But also very expensive (compared with chicken eggs). They tend to have a more robust flavor and make a very excellent complimenting protein for alot of gamier dishes. Roasted venison haunch covered in a fried quail egg is one of my favorites.

I started raising coturnix quail this fall for their eggs, in view of the fact that chicken hens are too loud for my situation. I now prefer quail eggs to any other kind of eggs because of their small size. My reasoning is the same for prefering cherry tomatos – their small size makes them fun to eat, in view of the fact that you can eat the whole thing in one bite. I particularly like to hard boil and pickle quail eggs.
