Information on ducks, Help plesae?
ok, I’ve bееn wanting a duck fοr a really long time аnd mу mom ѕаіd thаt i саn probally gеt 1-2 thіѕ summer. I need tο know еνеr thing аbουt taking care οf thеm (bесаυѕе i wіll bе geting 2) whеn thеу аrе ducklings аnd whеn thеу аrе ducks. I want tο gеt a male аnd female ѕο thеу саn mate, іѕ thаt a tеrrіblе ideay οr nοt. hοw long dο ducks live аnd whаt breed ѕhουld i gеt. I posbally wіll ѕhοw thеm. whаt websites аnd stores ѕhουld I gο tο tο gеt. Shουld i gеt thе duckling іn thе mail οr аt a store аnd whаt stores саn i gο. whеrе I саn gеt јυѕt 2. add aany οthеr information i need οr ѕhουld hаνе.

First thing you should do is check with your local ordinances to see if ducks are allowed where you live. If you find that it is then I would contact your local feed stores to see if they carry ducklings as most places will not ship one or two as they would get too cold and die.

Where are you from? It would be best to get them accurate to you. Shipping is okay but is really rough on the chickens/ducks. I look on www.craigslist.com I always find some one there. On terrible thing about buying adults is you really can’t tell how ancient they are. They may be too ancient to lay eggs and sometimes people sell the terrible ones. And a person like you wouldn’t know if they are excellent or not. I live in Indiana. and I could hook you up with some breeders. I used to show my chickens and duck in 4-H and other open shows. I could tell you alot of info. But I don’t want to place it all in here. As for shelter. a buildiing is best. you could just have them in a storage shed. I do and that works fine. As far as I know ducks can live up to 10 being, maybe longer maybe shorter. The best duck I’ve had are call duck or mallards. the larger ones juts make too much of a mess. Excellent LUCK
