That conversation is just useless, because it is plain simple. Splendid Britian is an island an England is a coutry ON that island. Besides England there are Wales and Scotland. But Northern Ireland is ruled by the UK as well, although is? has nothing to to with it.

I agree it’s really annoying when Americans refer to the whole of the UK as England. And basically Ireland, Scotland etc were England’s first colonies, so… yes, I suppose maybe they are to blame.

only thing that isnt is when people call the entire country england … i seen in an amercian curriculum when i was a kid where it had the Uk entirley labled as england then again the english about .. say 100 being ago used to refernce scotland ireland wales and england as just england … so mabye they are to blame?
